Frequently-Asked Questions

Q: Do you power wash?

A:  Yes. Our power washing team will clean your entire home the week before it is scheduled to be painted. We use biodegradable cleaning agents that won't harm your landscaping. In many instances, mildew growth will be evident on various surfaces of your home. Our washing solution includes enough bleach to sterilize the mildew and keep it from growing through your new coating. Please note that the washing process will streak your windows, so we suggest holding off on cleaning them until after your home has been painted. Paint Co. now offers window washing, so if you would like a price quote for that as well, please let our representative know!

Q: Do you spray?

A:  Absolutely not! We apply all paints by hand. Most homes in the area have masonite siding, which is very susceptible to moisture damage. The underside of each siding board is especially prone to moisture entry because it is a rough cut or "end-grain." If you have a newer home and look at this area on your siding, it will look thin, and probably have some mildew growth. The odds are very good that your home was sprayed when it was built. Hand-painting allows you to apply the proper amount of paint to this area to insure its protection-spray does not. The only benefit to spray application is lower cost. We feel the negatives far outweigh this one benefit.

Q: How long will my job take?

A:  Completion time varies, depending on the size of the home, its complexity, and the number of finished coats applied. The average home takes a four-person crew 2 1/2 to 3 days to complete.

Q: Do we have to be home when you paint?

A:  No. We do not require anyone to be home while we are painting, but we will need the windows and doors unlocked, as well as the garage door, so we can open and close them from the outside while we work.

Q: What kind of paint do you use?

A:  We strongly recommend Sherwin Williams paints and stains for all exterior and interior needs. Sherwin Williams is the oldest and largest paint manufacturer in the United States. Additionally, they are one of the few manufacturers with their own stores-a fact that is very important to us, because it provides a consistent level of service from store to store, as well as any technical assistance we may need.

Q: Do you provide any other services?

A: Paint Co. also provides Interior Painting, as well as Power Washing, Gutter Cleaning, Window Washing and Driveway & Sidewalk Cleaning. All of these services address the maintenance and visual upkeep of your home, and go hand in hand with a fresh coat of paint. We want to help you keep your home looking its best! Please ask our representative to provide you with additional pricing for these services, if you are interested.

Q: How often should we paint our home?

A:  If it hasn't been painted since it was built, sooner is better. Experts recommend re-coating every 5 years after a one-coat application, and 7 or 8 years after a 2-coat application.

Q: Do you repair damaged wood?

A: No. We don't have a background in that, and would not be comfortable trying to provide you with a service we are not fully qualified to do. We can, however, offer you a few names of local companies that have done a lot of work for our customers in the past. They have taken good care of our customers, and we are quite comfortable recommending them to you.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes. We carry a $3,000,000 liability policy, as well as full Worker's Compensation. Our insurance company would be glad to fax or mail you a copy of the policy with your name and address listed as the covered party.

Q: Do you have references?

A: Absolutely! The Testimonials section of this website includes customer comments. We will also be happy to leave you with an abbreviated reference list that includes phone numbers, so you can speak wiht some of our customers directly, or go see their homes.

Q: You offer 6-months, same as cash?

A: Absolutely! This flexible program allows you to take up to 6 months to pay off the balance of your job (after a 20% deposit). We utilize Wells Fargo for this program, and after completion of your home, they will send you a monthly statement which requires a 5% minimum payment. Your application must be completed and approved, prior to the start of your job.
